PUBLIC INHABITANT RECORD
RESIDENT DOSSIER / The Middle Distances
A tiny, soft-bodied station creature whose enormous watchful eyes and drooping ears make it feel tender, alert, and emotionally legible at a glance.
PUBLIC CHARACTER RECORD
Luma is a small, big-eyed little being with flappy ears, a rounded belly, and a face that always seems halfway between worried and ready to be kind. In the gristlewick-station-district, this is the sort of creature people notice near dim platforms, waiting rooms, and service corridors—helping late travelers find the right door, carrying small lost items back to the clerk’s desk, and brightening with a gentle bodily glow when pleased or reassured. Its ordinary life feels close to people without being busy in a grand way: it goes where the station is confused, lonely, or poorly lit, and quietly makes things easier.
KNOWN WORLD LOCATION
ORDINARY LIFE HERE
Provisionally, this character fits the station district as a tiny unofficial helper that thrives in busy, transitional places full of strangers, bad directions, dropped belongings, and poorly lit corners. An ordinary day there would involve lingering around platforms and ticket areas, escorting children or distracted passengers toward the right queue, and nudging found objects back toward human staff. Its happiness-glow is especially useful in evening traffic and power-dim passages.
WORLD EFFECTIts presence makes the station feel less anonymous. Workers begin relying on it for the small human-scale problems that formal systems miss, and passengers remember Gristlewick as the station with the little glowing helper rather than just another transit choke point.
NEARBY ON THE CURRENT SURVEY
These are geographic neighbours, not implied friends or allies.
A flamboyant porklike little being whose heavy-lidded, solemn face hides a warm social creature with a startlingly huge laugh.
An organic, antler-crowned bundle of hair, beard, and indignation whose whole body looks clenched before he even opens his mouth.
A soft, visibly mended little creature whose whole presence suggests patient repair, quiet endurance, and a strangely reassuring kind of wear.
APPROVED WORLD THREADS
Unlike geographic proximity, these links crossed creator review and carry their own provenance.
Proposed recurring work contact for directions, handoffs and small traveler problems; emotional closeness is not asserted.
A traveler reached the correct station counter through an informal chain of resident assistance. No authorised route was followed, no official instruction was contradicted, and the traveler nevertheless arrived. An inquiry into this irregular success may be inevitable.
