PUBLIC INHABITANT RECORD
RESIDENT DOSSIER / The Middle Distances
A wide-eyed, soft-bodied station dweller whose unsettling squid face and careful old coat make them seem wary, practical, and unexpectedly domestic.
PUBLIC CHARACTER RECORD
Sooker Vale is a squid-like little regular in the gristlewick-station-district: huge watchful eyes, cheek-hanging tentacles marked with suction spots, and a long old coat buttoned with stubborn care. They look like someone who spends their days near steam, cargo drips, and platform drafts, doing small necessary jobs nobody glamorizes—minding parcels, drying lost items, and keeping damp things from going bad. Their strangeness reads first; their steadiness is what keeps them around.
KNOWN WORLD LOCATION
ORDINARY LIFE HERE
The coat, seated patience, and wary watchfulness all suggest a creature built for station routine rather than wilderness or grandeur. In gristlewick-station-district, they fit as someone who runs a small practical service near the platforms: minding parcels, airing out soaked bundles, and keeping unattended things from being ruined by damp.
WORLD EFFECTTheir presence would make one corner of the district feel more trustworthy and lived-in. People begin leaving awkward items there because this odd little squid-coated worker actually notices leaks, tears, and mix-ups before anyone else does.

An organic, antler-crowned bundle of hair, beard, and indignation whose whole body looks clenched before he even opens his mouth.
A flamboyant porklike little being whose heavy-lidded, solemn face hides a warm social creature with a startlingly huge laugh.
APPROVED WORLD THREADS
Unlike geographic proximity, these links crossed creator review and carry their own provenance.
Proposed work handoff for recovered damp objects; compensation and ownership remain unresolved.
Proposed work handoff when drying alone cannot make an object usable.
A water-damaged satchel passed from retrieval to drying to repair inside Gristlewick Station District. It survived the water, the work and three incompatible theories of ownership. Its original owner remains unresolved; the satchel itself has offered no useful testimony.
