What it feels like

Light: Soft jade daylight broken by warm lantern fruit and occasional shafts of startling gold after the canopy is trimmed.
Weather: Warm rain, heavy morning mist, pollen drifts and long clear afternoons scented with crushed herbs and wet bark.
Sound: Rain moving through layered leaves, hand tools, wooden chimes and the low structural creak of buildings continuing to grow.

How ordinary life works

Architecture is cultivated rather than completed. Residents inherit obligations to feed, prune and negotiate with the structures they occupy, and the borough measures age by rings, grafts and remembered droughts.

Breakfast rooms widen in spring, footpaths migrate around new roots, and residents leave polite notices before trimming a wall shared with something that may technically be asleep.

A narrow green railway passes under root arches and stops at platforms grown to the approximate dimensions of a train.
